This Swedish company made it’s name on the back of the group company’s involvement with the development of fighter jets. They’re responsible for some extremely solid and reliable cars, however, and also some quirky designs which have earned a place in automotive history. For example, the 1956 Saab Sonett Super Sport, a short-lived vehicle which you’re unlikely to see around today. It was in the 80s though that they really took off with the Saab 900 Convertible, again a limited run of 400 so very rare and difficult to find today. The 1984 9000 had vast interior space and was hailed as Sweden’s safest car at the time, making it ideal for families. In 2002, however, they opted for a more sportystyle, and the 9-3 Sport Sedan was born. This car had premium features and a 2.0 L turbocharged engine. It was probably the Saab 9-3 Convertible that really turned heads though. The stiffer body and automatic soft-top operation made it the perfect car fordrivers, and the pop-up roll bars added to the brand’s safety credentials. And then, 2008 brought us the Saab Turbo X, a 2.8 L engine producing 280 hp and one of the first all-wheel drive systems giving incredible handling in all weather.Call 01406 373474 to find your next used Saab or come and visit us at our showroom -Baytree Car Sales in Spalding, Lincolnshire
